Senior 3rd Line Support Engineer – Hybrid *

Job: 3rd Line Support

Basic Salary: £35,000 plus benefits & bonus. OTE of around £37k. *

* Employee Healthcare after 6 months service, annual birthday leave, home internet and mobile subsidy. Hybrid home working 2 days per week once up to speed with systems.

Employment: Full time (Hybrid)

Location: Basildon and surrounding areas (40 mile radius of SS156SL)

Exciting opportunity for an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join our client who tailor IT services to support and deliver exceptional services.

Systems Engineer / System Administrator/ 3rd Line Support Core Duties

Responsible for the UK customer backend infrastructure, providing a point of contact for escalations from our 1st / 2nd line teams, which currently support approx. 300 users. Duties will include some project work, mainly improvements, research, design and assisted implementation of solutions for their customers.

In order to be suitable for this position you must have proven experience working in a Systems Engineer, Microsoft Systems Administrator, 3rd Line Engineer or similar role covering server, network and application support/administration and experience implementing solutions as well as maintaining them. It is essential to have a broad technical skill set including Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Azure services, SAN/NAS, TCP/IP, Cisco switch and firewall administration.

Systems Engineer / System Administrator/ 3rd Line Support Analyst’s Skills

* Good all-round experience of multiple infrastructure technologies

* Advanced Microsoft Server skills, Microsoft Hyper-V including build & administration

* Microsoft Active Directory, IIS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDS support

* Some scripting experience PowerShell, VBScript, Bash etc.

* Acronis Backup and Replication knowledge

* Monitoring of infrastructure using PRTG, SolarWinds or similar

* Networking experience TCP/IP, VLAN configuration

* MS SQL Server administration knowledge (not essential)

* Undertake new project work, research and design solutions

* Building, maintaining servers – virtual and physical

* Strong customer awareness, ability to manage customer expectations

* Experience working in an ITIL environment and ability to follow process

* Perform day-to-day support, maintenance and configuration checks

Systems Engineer / System Administrator/ 3rd Line Support Analyst ESSENTIAL Requirements

* OS: Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 (AD, IIS, DNS, DHCP, DFS, RDS, Replication Failovers)

* Virtualisation platform: Microsoft Hyper-V

* Office 365 Exchange administration

* Microsoft O365 management and migration

* TCP/IP: switch/firewall network administration

* Backup/DR: VEEAM, Acronis or similar

* Certified Microsoft qualification (within last 5 years)
