DWP. Digital with Purpose.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Domain Architect to join our community of tech specialists in DWP Digital. We're driving a once-in-a-generation transformation of government services.

We're using fresh ideas and ground-breaking technologies to build and maintain innovative, scalable and user-centric digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives.

The scale of what we do is outstanding, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

Delivery. Work. Projects.

As Senior Infrastructure Domain Architect you will develop strategies, blueprints, reference architectures and design patterns for DWP infrastructure.

We want you to identify, bring together, share and refine reference patterns and architectures. You'll influence technology choices in our infrastructure domain to ensure consistent, coherent and excellent architecture design.

You'll work across delivery projects in DWP Digital to ensure we are producing design artefacts of the right standard, and give advice to other Solution Architects, Product Owners and other multidisciplinary technologists on our teams, as our expert on design elements of their solutions.

Your Cloud Infrastructure domain knowledge and experience will shape DWP's IT strategy and how we deliver architecture – including defining the tools and techniques most appropriate for particular environments.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

Leading and supporting infrastructure architecture design of business-critical IT projects/services in a large, sophisticated UK central government or private sector organisation.
Infrastructure strategies, blueprints, reference architectures and design patterns.

Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work and collaborate flexibly. We work a hybrid model – you'll be in the office about 40% of the time, and 60% home working.

We offer competitive pay of up to £67,000

You'll also get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over 27%, and a generous leave package starting at 26 days.
