About the role
The Senior Network Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the organisation's computer network infrastructure, ensuring that the network runs efficiently and effectively. They will provide troubleshooting assistance to users, analyze network performance, and recommend upgrades, as needed. The Senior Network Support Engineer will also work with the network engineering team to design and implement new network technologies and maintain network security.
What will you bring?
1. Extensive knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
2. Experience with network security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control.
3. Knowledge of routing and switching technologies, including OSPF, BGP, and VLANs.
4. Experience with network monitoring tools, such as Nagios or SolarWinds.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
8. Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP) is preferred.
