Job description

We are currently looking to expand the team at the DVSA.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be both in a leading and technical role for some of the DVSAs largest and most critical digital services.

We work in an Agile environment with multiple scrums teams per project. You will be working to continuously improve digital services in line with digital strategy, all while supporting the product teams.

In the DVSA we are constantly working to improve the technical currency of our digital platforms as well as proving value of our public services. You will be supporting and transforming existing cloud platforms in addition to building new serverless cloud solutions. As such you will get the chance to test your abilities, broaden your skills and solve complex technical challenges for a range of stakeholders.

In this role there will be no budgetary responsibilities so you can fully focus on some of the technical challenges you will encounter.

Person specification

We are interested in candidates with the following experience:

* Demonstrable experience/knowledge of cloud provider, particularly AWS

* Strong Linux administration expertise (particularly Amazon Linux distributions)

* Experience using Jenkins for continuous integration

* Demonstrable experience/knowledge of Hashicorp suites (Terraform is critical)

* Experience of working with configuration management tooling (Puppet preferred)

* Experience of working with and managing integrations to Gitlab, Github and CodeCommit
