DWP. Digital with Purpose.
Are you an experienced QA Tester?
Do you have experience working for a large-scale organisation using financial applications?
We're looking for a Senior QA Tester to join our DWP Digital community to test and assure innovations to applications and services that allow millions of users to access essential benefits.
DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
Our DWP Digital teams are driving a once-in-a-generation transformation of government services, using fresh ideas and leading-edge technologies to create innovative, scalable and user-centric digital solutions.
You'll help change the face of public services used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives. The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

You'll provide technical leadership to a brilliant multi-disciplinary team. That means overseeing the products they deliver, support and test, and includes environment maintenance, upgrades, and availability, tooling support and defect triage.
Our QA Testers are at the centre of innovation at DWP. When we try something new, you and your team tell us if it works, spot defects and resolve issues. You'll make sure our products work for millions of people who need them.
Your team will develop reusable test collateral and services that improve the efficiency of functional and manual testing in DWP.
You will implement a shift left approach to define processes that reduce or eliminate defects as early in the process as possible.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
Skills in maintaining full traceability of defects, tests and requirements.
Experience in Lead Delivery of testing activities, ensuring that quality, time and cost objectives are met.
The ability to communicate with other teams and share knowledge and lessons learned.
Experience with VME, mainframe or large, integrated applications
Experience with test automation principles and assisted tooling is desirable, not essential.
Details. Wages. Perks.
You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in either Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.
We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work and collaborate flexibly.
We work a hybrid model – with some time at home and some time in a hub with the team.
We offer competitive pay of up to £41,480

You'll get a generous leave package starting at 26 days, plus all the usual bank holidays, and the option to take extra days off on flexi leave.
We also have a broad benefits package built around your work-life balance which includes:
