Job Description

Senior Security Architect

Join a rapidly growing Information Security team at a leading telecoms company based in Reading as a Lead Security Architect Consultant. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly impactful team and influence the future of the business.

In this role, you'll be responsible for providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to architecture, security policies, and standards. You will play a key role in the technical design and delivery of security solutions within public/private and hybrid cloud networks. Additionally, you will be developing and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and partners to support the delivery of requirements and contracted outcomes.

Essential Experience:

* Must be able to lead the design and review of secure system architectures using or developing patterns and principles, where necessary challenging to create precedents and set direction.

* Must have a strong knowledge of system architectures and be able to understand and articulate the impact of vulnerabilities on existing and future designs and systems, and how easy or difficult it will be to exploit these vulnerabilities.

* Cloud/Hybrid security

* Identity and access management

* Must have expertise in defining and then governing the delivery of security contractual/business outcomes and know how to influence/negotiate technical outcomes with 3rd parties, including conflict resolution due to changing priorities.

* Strong technical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a focus on setting technical direction and quality/standards for security architecture, design, and delivery.

* Experience communicating with multiple stakeholders to act as liaison between the business, other technical communities, and 3rd party delivery teams.

* Familiarity with security controls, particularly in service-oriented architectures and designs for cloud-based services particularly Azure and AWS

* Ability to identify potential risks/threats during design reviews and assess security implications for new services, applications, and technologies.

* Skilled in developing, implementing, and optimizing security technologies and processes to enable effective transfer of a solution into operations.

* Knowledge of deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management in infrastructure as code.

* Familiarity with common security management frameworks such as NIST, PCI, GDPR, ISO Series OWASP, ITIL, the ISF Standards of Good Practice (SoGP), and ISACA’s Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBIT) frameworks.
