Telent Technology Services are now looking for a Senior Systems Engineer (OSS – Operational Support Systems to join our ever-growing NOC / Network Monitoring team in Camberley – due to our ongoing and new, national critical infrastructure projects, we are looking for a passionate, detail oriented and experienced Senior Systems Engineer (OSS – Operational Support Systems) to take charge of this brand-new role and to bring in knowledge to help further grow our NOC division.

Senior Systems Engineer (OSS – Operational Support Systems) – What you'll do:

The primary function of the Senior Systems Engineer (OSS – Operational Support Systems) is to build and enhance the monitoring and alerting capability within the business for both internal and external customers, whilst also developing the OSS strategy and architecture to deliver on the business's future needs. The Senior OSS Engineer will also be working with key BAU stakeholders to ensure contractual requirements and objectives are being monitored and reported on.

The role of Senior Systems Engineer (OSS – Operational Support Systems) will also act as a technical point of contact for escalations where needed, taking ownership of the monitoring services and technologies to ensure they are stable and optimised, and producing the necessary design documentation and governance to ensure OSS solutions are fit for purpose.

We are looking for a resilient team player that is keen to collaborate on defining and designing OSS solutions, whilst also able to take ownership of key monitoring components and highlighting areas of concerns or developments to stakeholders when things are not right. As the Operations Support System Engineer, you will naturally be the champion of making it easy for the next person to carry out their work.

To act as an internal technical point of escalation, and to be able to mentor/coach internal resources to achieve a higher level of service in Operational System Support.
To contribute to and develop the OSS roadmap to include new technologies, such as AIOps / AI-Ops.
To train internal engineering staff and customers on new OSS products and solutions.
To add value by highlighting trends, security threats or technical bulletins which may impact customers.
To be responsible and accountable for OSS documentation and technical information relating to customer platforms and Telent Cloud Services (TCS).
To adhere to internal and external processes such as task allocation, completion, reporting and change. This includes updating all parties and associated documentation.
To assist with Proof-of-Concept / POC scenarios, type approval activities and pre/post-change lab testing in both customer facing and Telent lab spaces.
To help in the creation of TA, POC, RFC, WI, and SoW documentation.
Perform comprehensive peer review of OSS engineering technical documentation.
Assist and/or lead in the pre-staging of equipment to be installed on customer sites as part of projects or installs.
To attend, as required, the following customer facing meetings, support reviews, project roadmap, monthly service reviews and weekly incident reviews.
Ensure time sheets are accurate and submitted weekly against the correct booking codes which have been approved via the Resourcing Team.
Certifications or training to be linked to business objectives and aligned with job role.
Overtime and expenses are completed and submitted accurately and timely.
Adhering to GDPR policy around sensitive data held on devices or central shares.
Handling and protection of Telent information and reporting of security incidents as defined in the Information Security Policy and the HR Information Security Policy. Senior Systems Engineer (OSS – Operational Support Systems) – Key requirements and attributes:

Demonstrable experience in designing and building SolarWinds based Network and OSS monitoring solutions, preferably in a service provider environment.
Technically leading from the front.
Excellent work ethic and a strong sense of pride and ownership.
