Job Description
Senior Software Test Engineer – Cambridge – £55,000 – Hybrid
My client are an established developer and manufacturer of specialised graphics systems for broadcast television. Based in Cambridge it has a strong reputation for quality, innovation and technical excellence. Their customers include some big names like Sky, BBC and ITV.
They are an engineering driven company working together as a friendly team with a passion for developing state of the art software in an agile software development environment.
The role will be testing a broadcast industry multi-viewer application running in a Linux environment.
Include:
• Planning the test cycles for new software releases
• Creation of test plans for existing and new software features
• Writing and running manual test-cases
• Scripting automated test-cases in Python
• Automating tests for a web-based user interface
• Investigating and reporting defects
• Reporting on software quality
• Liaising with stakeholders
Candidate Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in Software Application Testing
• 2-3 years of experience writing automated test scripts in Python
• 2-3 years of experience using Linux
• Experience scripting in BASH
• Excellent testing skills (designing test plans, writing and executing test cases, reporting and verifying defects)
