Position: 1st Line Support Engineer

Job Description:

Our client are an IT Reseller based in Coalville, Leicestershire, LE67. Specialising in Product Supply, Virtualisation, Engineering Installation and Helpdesk Support Services. We are currently looking for a permanent member of staff to expand our helpdesk and engineering department.

Working in a first line helpdesk technical support role, you will join a fast growing busy IT company providing technical support services to SME's throughout the UK. You must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and have the skills to identify and problem solve. A competent knowledge and understanding of IT is required, along with experience of Windows server, desktop operating systems and office applications.

In addition to supporting our Helpdesk, you would also assist in the pre-configuration of customer's hardware prior to delivery to site. Although you will be predominantly working in-house, on occasion there may be a requirement to work on a client site. For example, this may be to assist in the rolling out of equipment as part of a solution. Should work on-site be required, this would be alongside a more senior engineer to assist. Both in-house and manufacturer training courses and accreditations will be achieved, with goals set for continual development.

Skills required and Duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Be polite and confident

Have an excellent telephone manner

Be well-organised and thorough,

Ability to work under pressure

Good first-time fix rate

Good Troubleshooting skills and diligence

Supporting customers via telephone and use of remote-control support software.

Configuration and setup of customer hardware, prior to site rollout.

Use of our In-house Helpdesk Application Software

Technologies you will require experience of at a support level.

Microsoft Windows Environment, Desktops and Servers

Microsoft Office

Office 365 administration and management

Backup Solutions

General Networking

General Desktop Applications
