Job Description

If you are looking to become a QA Manager/Lead and need the next step on that journey, then this role is for you!

You might be a senior software QA engineer, from a product background, and want to start developing your hand-off skills like mentoring, strategy setting and taking ownership of QA within scrum teams. You will have the opportunity to do this and more in this role, which also has a clear pathway to management.

However, your test automation experience will not go to waste as you will be working to build pipelines of automated tests with Jenkins. You will work on a variety of products and projects, from testing embedded code to mobile and web applications. While Python is likely to be your main language, as long as you have an understanding of product testing you should certainly apply!

You will be welcomed into a team of 12 which is growing and developing. You will have to opportunity to mentor and develop the other testers – ensuring that they become the very best engineers that they can be. You will be part of the specification generation process, ensuring that your colleagues are working in the right direction but also that the consumer is always kept in mind during the development lifecycle.

The company you are joining produce mission-critical communications equipment. Their products are used globally to ensure that Police officers, firefighters and so many more workers are using safe and secure equipment that can be a difference in dangerous situations. Because of this, the testing must be rigorous, and you will be part of determining the level of required testing based on risk.

You will be working in state-of-the-art offices based in Waterbeach. The role is fully on-site but operates with flexibility for start and finish times and always a half-day on Fridays.
