We are looking for a Software Test Team Lead to join our Software Development team.
This is a permanent role. If you are self-motivated engineer who can prioritise and work without supervision on customer sites, we would like to hear from you.
We are looking for someone with proven and significant experience in within software development in a QA capacity.
This is a fast-paced environment, so it is essential that you are solutions orientated with line manager responsibility experience.
Travel: this role may require an occasional travel to Client’s sites across UK
Purpose of the role:
The role will be task managed by the Software Development Manager. It is key that issues and risks regarding Quality Assurance are managed in a timely manner. Teamwork and collaboration with all disciplines in the software team are essential to the role.
The role will have line management responsibilities within QA, with the progression, personal development and performance management of reporting staff being an essential part of this role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the software team in the planning and execution of QA activities related to backlog/software releases.
Provide status updates to stakeholders on QA progress both individually and across the team.
Mentor and assist less experienced testers across all development teams.
Provide estimates for QA effort expected on new software changes.
Create test plans for software releases.
Identify and manage risks and issues from test plans.
Ensure QA tasks are performed efficiently (cost/time). Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in:
Creating, managing and delivering test strategies and plans
Solid Windows Operating Systems and MS Office knowledge
Agile Software Development Methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
Leading a team successfully
Personal development and performance management of team members
