Systems Engineer | Rhondda | On-Site | Up To £40,000

Yolk Recruitment is working with an established data centre based in South Wales who are looking to hire a talented Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team and manage their Hyper-V/Dell SAN clusters within a hosted Virtual Server Infrastructure. They are looking for someone who has strong experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, SAN storage, and backup and recovery, as well as basic knowledge of PowerShell and networking.

What you'll be doing:

Manage and maintain Hyper-V clusters
Work with sales staff to specify new infrastructure
Ensure existing clusters are secure and operating efficiently
Resolve customer issues with hosted servers
Handle backups with Veeam
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Effective communication with non-technical people

What you'll bring to the team:

Windows Server (Apply online only))
Hyper-V Server (2012 R2-2016) with clustering
SAN storage (iSCSI)
Backup and recovery (Veeam)
Basic PowerShell
Basic networking and network services

Desirable Skills (The more you have the better)

Microsoft licensing, SPLA, and volume licensing
VoIP systems (Gamma Horizon)
Office 365 administration
Microsoft SQL Server administration
Monitoring systems (Zabbix)
Webserver administration (Apache on Linux and IIS on Windows)
Linux server administration (Ubuntu, CentOS)
Dell servers and SANs
Cisco and SonicWall network equipment
Advanced networking (CCNA level)
