Technical Architect – IT Services – Swindon (hybrid working)

Our client, a well-establish and reputable managed service provider is seeking a motivated and technically driven Technical Architect to join them on a permanent basis. They provide a wealth of different technical services, predominately to government and defence clients. Role overview:

Reporting directly to the Head of Architecture, you will take responsibility for designing and developing technical solutions to a number of key clients with varying demands. You'll be a part of an agile and technically motivated team that is responsible for building and supporting specialist technical areas such as storage, server infrastructure, virtualisation and networks.

Responsibilities:

-Work closely with wider areas of the business to clearly define customer requirements

-Develop technical roadmaps and strategy

-Develop architecture that meets the requirements of the customer and proposed solution

-Assist in the development of solutions, standards and processes

-Support pre-sales activity when required

-Create proposals and SOWs documentation

-Creation of reference architectures

Requirements:

-Previous experience working in a similar role (Technical Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant/Support etc.)

-Experience of the creation of solution designs coupled with an understanding of related technologies such as virtualisation, server infrastructure, networks, Microsoft Technologies etc.

-Any experience with the following technologies will be beneficial: VMWare ESXi and Hyper-V, Microsoft technologies (on-prem and 365), RedHat Linux support and configuration, Enterprise anti-virus technologies, hyperscale cloud services, scripting, DR and business continuity, ITIL, MDM.
