Job Description

Technical Support Analyst

I am working with one of the country's leading mutual financial services institutions who, over the years, have earned a fantastic reputation amongst their customers and staff due to their business ethics, commitment to the local community and the value they place in the development and progression of their people.

I currently have an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Technical Support Analyst.

As a Technical Support Analyst you will be responsible for providing 2nd line support and working closely with the technical application support team. You will be evaluating, and assessing the importance of reported issues, implementing resolutions and escalating further where required.

Essential to this role is a considerable knowledge and experience of analytical & constructive thinking to tackle a wide variety of challenging and difficult IT issues. Also, a strong level of experience with BMC Control – M and Veeam software.

Responsibilities

*Support and maintenance of a wide range …of I.T technical and business software tools.
*Support and maintenance for Windows and Linux platforms.
*Support and maintenance for the technical scheduling application (BMC Control-M).
*Backup & Recovery support and maintenance (Veeam software).
*Assist in the resolution of assigned calls made to the I.T. Service desk.
*Manage allocated workload and issues to meet project timescales.
*Liaise with third party suppliers to resolve I.T. related issues.
*Assist in ensuring Service Level Agreements are met.
*Provide out of hours support for I.T. systems.
*Ensuring Security procedures are followed and advise on I.T. security related issues.
*Producing quality documentation.
*ProvidingassistancetootherareasoftheITService&Solutionsdepartmentasnecessary including areas not detailed above

Skills and experience required

*Minimum of 2 years' experience in a 2nd level Technical Support role.
*Detailed knowledge of Scheduling technologies.
*Detailed knowledge of Windows Server Operating systems.
*Working knowledge of RedHat Linux Operating systems.
*Working knowledge of Back and Recovery technologies.
*Able to automate system management tasks using Windows PowerShell or Linux shell scripting.
*A proven track record of resolving IT technical issues.
*Maintain contact with representatives of external companies wherever necessary.
*Ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation.
