Job Description

This IS an exciting role for a Telemetry Manager to make a real difference, You will be  accountable for managing the delivery of services and changes; providing development, technical and functional leadership to support transformational programmes of works for key operational systems including Telemetry, SUREVIEW SEMD, IMMIX, OSISoft PI, ThingWorx and IIOT. This role is accountable for leadership in operational system domains by leading on stakeholder management, KPI delivery, solution delivery (business, functional and technical) for key and associated operational systems directly and indirectly with support from the team.

As the Telemetry Manager in the leadership team, this role will continually champion and drive improvements and synergies across the organisation. It will identify opportunities for technical, process and functional improvements and drive its delivery through consolidation, integration and automation ensuring a consistent and repeatable approach.

The Telemetry Manager is a senior role, accountable for the realisation of operational systems, operation, development, and delivery initiatives; the adoption of agile working methodologies and for working collaboratively with colleagues in the Business and their counterparts in IT & Data to ensure services are maintained and serviced, processes are executed, and projects are delivered to the highest standards in line with business governance, policies, standards, and procedures. 

The Telemetry Manager is accountable for providing strategic direction and planning for the Operational Technology Systems team in line within the team and the wider IT business to help meet business requirements in accordance with the overall strategy.  This role will ensure the development and maintenance of an OT Systems Support Strategy with a prioritised roadmap and timeline. The role is accountable for taking leadership in keeping systems/products/platforms green. Hybrid working is available .

To be successful as a Telemetry Manager, you will need to have the following: –

Management experience with specific focus in a Utilities Operational Technology environment with multiple years of experience managing team managers; particularly in a geographically dispersed.

Ability to quickly establish rapport and credibility, and to influence at all levels in a highly cross-functional, matrixed organisation.  

Bachelor's degree in computer science, control systems engineering (or similar) is desirable.  

ITIL v4 / MSP / Agile / SCRUM desirable
