SystemsLink are part of the Inspired plc family. They were established over 20 years ago and have successfully achieved its original intention of creating and maintaining the best Energy Monitoring and Targeting software in the marketplace
We are looking for a VB.NET Developer to join our successful Software team.
Role and Responsibilities
Founded in 1997, SystemsLink, part of the Inspired plc group, is an ever-growing software house with a mix of both on- and off-shore developers, testers, business analysts and project managers.
We build software solutions for the energy industry, suppliers, consultants, and consumers – the latter predominantly public sector. We are looking to complement our staff of 40 with a pragmatic, agile-minded, modern, and experienced VB.NET developer.
The main roles and responsibilities of this will be:
* Investigation and resolution of issues seen with the company’s software and systems.
* Take charge of projects at any part of the software development lifecycle and see them through to completion.
* Software analysis including agreeing and documenting system requirements with customers, specification, design, and estimation of solutions.
* Implement code changes and testing.
* QA of other developer’s work.
* Managing test and production builds and releases.
* Software development spanning several systems including our Energy Manager desktop application, Web Reports and Profile Data systems.
* Provide support to our service delivery team for complex queries.
* Issue Management through JIRA for all developments
* Source Control management through Git
* Identifying areas for modification in existing systems.
* Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.
All roles are home-based, but we meet periodically at our offices in Bedford and London Bridge.
We expect high-quality software development and code will be routinely assessed by the Team Lead. The ability to write well-structured, maintainable code is essential. We value efficiency and effective trouble-shooting skills very highly.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Essential
* At least 5 years software development experience with referenceable projects
* A high level of proficiency in coding with VB.Net and Winforms.
* Experience of full life cycle: Analysis, design, coding, testing
* SQL Server and T-SQL.
Desirable
* ASP.Net, Web services and JSON
* CSS, JavaScript, and HTML
* Knowledge of the energy sector
* Jira
* SQL Server
